Mr Gee Burger Truck

A food truck that parks in other peoples sites (obviously with some previous consent) and sets up an eating joint for the night. What a great idea!

Tonight, it was setup in a car wash along the main road. The wait was around an hour including ordering and then waiting for your order to be made. They had 6 people working relentlessly as the line kept topping up with newcomers. The system was simple.. place your order, they give you a number and they take down your name as well...then wait for your order to be called out...

One annoying thing was getting up to the front and being told there was no more chill cheese fries left. I mean they only have three items on the menu (Fat Boy Burger, Chilli Cheese Fries and a Baklava Shake ... how can you seriously run out of one type of food within the first 100 orders? The annoying thing wasn't that they ran out was that they realise they didn't run out after they took our order and people after us were able to order the fries....

Most people took their order to go as there was very little seating area... which comprised of a few seats and some milk crates. Generally street parking is the way to go but chances are you'll have to park far as all the nearby parking gets filled up quick.

I did some reading beforehand and discovered that you can request a double pattie burger and most people recommend that this is well worth it... hence my Fat Boy was such a meaty beast...
The sauce and meat pattie were pretty darn good for something off the back of a truck. I personally hate ordering beef burgers because they just lack anything with a wow factor... but I can see why there's a following for this truck... There's no need to promote yourself so hard with what's in the burger when the food speaks for itself...

The Baklava shake was too running for my liking and didn't really resemble baklava or anything of the sort... There's heaps of venues in Sydney that do amazing shakes for only a bit more change than this...

Would I wait again for the burger... most probably... with the Fat Boy setting quite a high benchmark I'm more than excited to stop off and sample their other burgers when they change their menu....

About

I suddenly feel the tides turning. A yearn for something better in my life. I'm hoping for big changes in my career, maybe the touch of my first born and the ongoing rollercoaster of my marriage.

It feels important enough to dedicate a few minutes of my days to etch out how it is through my eyes... just so one day I can flick through and reminisce

Meet The Author

I've spent my whole life being the son my parents wanted me to be. I studied hard, went through the different levels of the school system and then I'm now 30. I married a beautiful girl, trying to pay off a mortgage, and have a bucket list of things I want to do which don't involve work.

I've always had a passion for blogging, photography, food, collecting aka organised hoarding and music and I can't think of any better moment to start documenting it...
