Molto Italian

I'm always on the lookout for great dining in Canberra and after reading gleaming reviews on Molto, we were off in search for some good ol' Italian food.

The waiter recommended Burrata as a starter. Burrata is a fresh Italian cheese made from mozzarella and cream. The outer shell is solid mozzarella, while the inside contains both mozzarella and cream, giving it an unusual, soft texture.

Drizzle some olive oil and a pinch of salt... you'll be in for a treat. Though a tiny entree for $12, the heavenly sensation of butter like cheese melting in your mouth was worth savouring.

One of the main reasons for the visit was their Buffalo Dining style cheese wheel.

Spaghetti Cacio E Pepe, served at the table. This pasta dish is minimal in ingredients but offers less room to hide errors in technique.

Molto serves the dish to perfection. A beautiful balance of al dente spaghetti tossed in cheese and pepper. Every mouthful was blissfully moreish.

The disappointment of the night came in the form of their House Made Ravioli  - Spinach and Buffalo Milk Ricotta in Burnt Butter and Sage.

First complaint was the portion size, 4 pieces for $28. I thought I mistakenly ordered an entree. Secondly the pasta itself was slightly hard around the edges. Though at least in the end, the sauce was spot on delicious and plate licking worthy.

My friend ordered their Vanilla Panacotta with Fresh Berries and Mint.  A simple plated dessert that tasted quite average.

I opted for their Nonna's Tiramisu served in glass. There wasn't much meringue or biscuit but that mascapone was so good everything can be forgiven. Slightly more sweet and less coffee factor but I was too busy indulging those calories to care.

Molto offers true top notch hospitality with friendly staff that like to stop at each table just to have a chat. Although sometimes we found ourselves in awkward conversations, I still appreciated the effort.

Located on the beautiful Kingston Foreshore with water views, you can be sure to experience lip smacking, authentic Italian food at Molto.

About

I suddenly feel the tides turning. A yearn for something better in my life. I'm hoping for big changes in my career, maybe the touch of my first born and the ongoing rollercoaster of my marriage.

It feels important enough to dedicate a few minutes of my days to etch out how it is through my eyes... just so one day I can flick through and reminisce

Meet The Author

I've spent my whole life being the son my parents wanted me to be. I studied hard, went through the different levels of the school system and then I'm now 30. I married a beautiful girl, trying to pay off a mortgage, and have a bucket list of things I want to do which don't involve work.

I've always had a passion for blogging, photography, food, collecting aka organised hoarding and music and I can't think of any better moment to start documenting it...
