For my starter I sampled their Falafel - Five pieces of falafel on a bed of vegetables and pickles with a small tub of tahini. I think the bite size falafels were well-cooked and quite delicious. I still miss those large football shaped ones from Sydney.
My friend ordered a side of Cheesy Chips... which was exactly what it was. Just cheese melted on chips... served soggy and fatty... with not much else.
My friend also had a serving on Pita with cheese... that looked less than appealing.
I tried their Kafta Roll - Grilled flavoured lamb mince wrapped in Lebanese bread with lettuce, tomato, pickles, chips and garlic sauce. Tasted like something I whip together at home in a presser. The garlic sauce failed to add the oomph needed to the wrap and was quite light.
To be fair, I've spent a lot of my past years sampling authentic Lebanese food in Auburn and Lakemba. With such high standards to match, I suppose I'm unintentionally a harsher critic.
Is it a place to take my friends to try authentic Middle Eastern BBQ... probably not. It's more a place I'd hope would be open because I'm hankering for some decent fast food.
