After my trip to Indian I've been avoiding Indian food mainly because I know it'll be a slap in the face representation. So instead of visiting my local haunts, I took the wife to Indian Chopsticks which essentially offers Indian and "Chinese" food.
The only thing remotely Chinese that I ordered (which is more Nepalese) was their Momos (dumplings).
The momo was very gyoza-like. The most interesting thing about the dish was their spicy tomato sauce it was paired up with. I didn't mind the texture of the dumpling but overall it was a still a tad too dry.
We opted for two mains, the Chef's Special Hot N Spicy Indian Prawn Masala and a Lamb Curry. The lamb was tender and not dry, it delivered a decent chilli kick but the dish overall tasted very one dimensional. The prawn masala tasted like a very creamy curry which wasn't bad but after a few spoons it tasted like something you get out of a jar from your supermarket.
The sweet lassi was nice.... it was quite thick and came out cold. I'm still missing lassi in clay pots...
The restaurant is essentially a transformed house, though you find that's the trend down the street. The decor is basic but at least it's clean. The service was efficient and staff barely spoke a word. When the bill came out to over $40... I left feeling like I was robbed...
I was excited to see Kulfi on the menu but after that experience I gave it a miss. Harris Park is populated with great Indian cuisine... but you won't find it here.
