Pho Noodle House

My wife, as usual, craves the taste of Vietnamese cuisine... especially Pho and we're always on the lookout for a good bowl in our area. A quick Google search shocked us to know there was one quite close at North Strathfield.

After a few glances through their menu, she naturally ordered a bowl of Pho Tai, essentially Pho with thinly sliced raw beef which you submerge into your boiling soup to cook and eat as you please. They bring her a bowl of Pho but needed to be asked for the sauces to compliment as it wasn't naturally on the table.

What people do compliment about this place is their large variety to which I always say is a bad thing. Large variety usually masks that you're a jack of all trades... but master of none.... and in this case the Pho spoke for itself. I took a few spoonful and the taste of the broth was too subpar to carry the dish.

Fortunately, well kinda, for me I got the Com Bo Luc Lac which is tender cubes of scotch fillet beef with black pepper sauce. I chose the tomato red rice as opposed to steam rice.... or you have the option to make it fried rice. The sauce was too salty... but at the least the tomato red rice was buttery and well-cooked.

As we waited for our food, we noticed the decore was lacking love... just basically a new carpet and some paint... The service, despite barely any customers, was slow and even though I ordered only two dishes he somehow had to comeback from the kitchen to reconfirm my dish as if he wasn't paying attention after he wrote down our order and left the table.

The positives include they take Credit Cards above $10 orders and the most dishes were reasonably priced. The place could potentially be something great for the locals... but unfortunately the service and quality of the food just isn't on par.

About

I suddenly feel the tides turning. A yearn for something better in my life. I'm hoping for big changes in my career, maybe the touch of my first born and the ongoing rollercoaster of my marriage.

It feels important enough to dedicate a few minutes of my days to etch out how it is through my eyes... just so one day I can flick through and reminisce

Meet The Author

I've spent my whole life being the son my parents wanted me to be. I studied hard, went through the different levels of the school system and then I'm now 30. I married a beautiful girl, trying to pay off a mortgage, and have a bucket list of things I want to do which don't involve work.

I've always had a passion for blogging, photography, food, collecting aka organised hoarding and music and I can't think of any better moment to start documenting it...
