I chose the "Karage" Chicken Burger - marinated chicken thigh fillet, pickles, slaw, iceberg, fries and sirarcha mayo. The chicken was juicy with a nice crunchy coating and sirarcha mayo really pieced it together. For me the slaw didn't do enough to break through to enhance the freshness of the burger. The fries, more like chips to me, was cooked very well... still crunchy by the end of the meal.
My wife chose their Angus Burger and Chips - Grand Angus, caramelised onion, cheddar, lettuce, tomato and pickle. The burger was average at best... I'll acknowledge that the beef was quite juicy but the overall burger still felt dry. It also crumbled and fell apart too easily as if it wasn't stacked properly. Note how they called it chips for this meal, and I got "fries" yet twe both got served the same thing. Can someone enlighten me as I always thought fries is the style McDonalds serves...
The salad my wife chose was the Roast Broccoli - broccoli, bacon, feta, spinach, parsnip, barley, seeds and cumin yoghurt. It was a great combination of ingredients that made for a refreshing salad that was a tad dry in my opinion.
The salad I ended up choosing was the Mediterranean - cauliflower, forest, chickpeas, pomegranate, haloumi, rocket, mint, duke and pomegranate molasses. I loved the sourness from the pomegranate and the saltiness from the haloumi. The salad overall felt too dry but I do understand that it's meant to be healthy and not drenched in sauce.
The service was friendly and attentive and the food was average to slightly above. On Friday nights it predominately operates as a place for drinks and chat rather than pub grub BUT with the voucher it made for a great meal that was great value at the same time... Which basically is a polite implication that their current pricing structure does not justify the quality or quantity you receive.
