The decor is very minimalist, which for this place works... with a nice juxtaposition of wood and brick. The layout is clean cut and modern... plus I love their simple menu. Choice doesn't make a restaurant better... it signifies to me a lack of clarity in what you are good at.
The wait for my food felt like 10-15 minutes (possibly longer)... and that's just to get my Red Fries - tangy seasoned thick-cut beer battered fries with Aioli. The wait for good food is only justified if there is a line outside the door... but it's lunchtime on a Friday and this place barely has ten customers.
The fries (more like chips) were well cooked and tasted fantastic. Above average in quality in every way.
The Salted Caramel Milkshake arrived a few minutes later. The flavour was sweet and consistent throughout... no real complaints BUT as a mental note I need to stop ordering into the hype of milkshakes... I really prefer thick shakes but just seem to get lost in the moment...
Finally my lamb burger arrived, with a knife to hold it altogether. The lamb burger consisted of mint-seasoned grass fed lamb, grilled haloumi, lettuce, tomato, aioli, and tomato relish... all of which somehow just blended all into an unpleasant salty and dry tasting burger... which was quite disappointing considering that their menu purposely decided to have a short and defined burger list... and that would imply you'd serve only the best of the best options you can muster...
Though I will give props where it's deserved... and that's to the impeccably friendly and polite service. In saying that the meal set me back $23 and I think the let down in burger quality is enough to cancel any repeated business from this bear for now...
