So my beautiful wife comes home with some frozen pasta from her favourite lunch haunt and she insists on me giving it a try. "The chilli sauce is to die for" she remarked... as she continues to tell me stories of her and her friend smothering their pastas with the same chilli sauce for lunch on previous occasions. I'm not the type to turn down a free meal or a chance to blog.. so I grabbed my camera, prepped the pots and pans and salivated in excitement.
She chose the chilli ravioli with alaskan crab and mascarpone. An expensive pasta choice but a good one (she also refused to divulge the price... I'm assuming because I'd probably choke in shock or something).
The sauce she chose to pair it up with was Adamo's primavera sauce. Which went well as the pasta had a lot going on already... and any other sauce with too much complexity would have been just overwhelming... I personally wondered how a white sauce would have gone with the dish... I'm definitely no Italian cuisine expert.. I just love to mix and match....
For some add-ons she got some parmesan cheese...
...and their fantastic chilli oil she keeps raving about. The chilli oil had the perfect kick for the pasta. I drenched my sauce in the oil and didn't regret it one bit.
We simply boiled the pasta.... and cooked the sauce... (the pasta was enough to serve 4-5 in one sitting)
and this "hand-made" pasta dish was ready to serve in less than 30 minutes...
The pasta was pretty amazing.... reminding of my experience at Buffalo Dining (which was a positive one)... where it's all about the quality and taste...
After this sampler... I'm actually quite keen on giving more foods from this place a try... and she vouches that most of the dishes she's had is just as fantastic... Excellent! Adamo.. here we go...
