As part of a campaign to promote the Bays Precinct Sydney, there was a gathering of events such as dog shows sponsored by RSPCA and the real reason why I'm there.. FOOD TRUCKS.
What caught our attention was a long queue in front of Street Sliders. Long queues usually imply good food (hence probably why everyone else is lining up under that false hope) the same way Asians inside Chinese restaurants imply some kind promise of an authentic experience.
So we lined up for around thirty minutes to order and another ten minutes for my food to be served... to which the lady was apologizing to everyone.
We chose two sliders and a side of chips for $13. Left Slider was called Smoke - Eggplant puree, smoked mozzarella, grilled red onion, shaved iceberg lettuce with balsamic glaze. Right slider was Prime - Beef Pattie, roasted tomato, maple caramelized bacon. braised onions, shaved iceberg lettuce and aged cheddar melt.
... and the verdict? It was average or slightly below at best... The chips weren't hot, the burgers were tiny (yes I understand sliders are small but these are tiny enough to pop into the mouth in one go) and to top it off it was also quite dry and bland. The only flavours that stood out was the aged cheddar melt.
They needed more staff to cater for the demand because the wait by no means justify what we got...
