We ordered their charcoal chicken, chips which came with the typical flat bread, pickles and garlic sauce. We also tried to order some falafel, but they were out... and they were also out of kofta... but offered us kibbeh instead.... but we weren't really in a kibbeh eating mood and just upgraded our chicken to a whole bird.
In all fairness, they were extra nice with the service... they added an extra garlic sauce with no charge... and since it was the end of the night they doubled out bread portion as well.... maybe they felt bad they were out of everything....
I hate being so judgmental but the chicken tasted more like a roast chicken ( and a slightly underrated one at that)... it was quite dry in most places and I struggled to eat it even with the garlic sauce.
The medium size of chips were a large portion and not well seasoned either. Fortunately I had my own chicken salt at home which I generously doused it in...
This place just lacks the feel of a charcoal chicken place.... as I'm walking in.. it's not overly warm from the heat of the chicken... nor is it drenched in the smell of the chicken cooking... it just felt slightly too sanitary... too clean-cut... and the chicken was sitting inside the warmer... slowly drying away until I finally bought it...
*sigh* I was really hoping for something great nearby.... just so I didn't have to fight the lines at El Jannah for some good ol charcoal chicken....
