Mountain High Pies

This is hands down my favourite place to be after hiking in the Blue Mountains. I purposely choose hikes out here just as an excuse to visit my favourite pie place. Nothing better than smashing down a well-made pastry... or two... after a long walk. I follow the 'you burn calories to intake more philosophy'...

I always get my typical Beef and Red Chilli Bean Pies. It's so good that sometimes I order frozen takeaway ones to bring home... I've tried a few of their others but this one tops the cake for me. It just so happens to be their most chilliest pie on their menu... coincidence... probably not. From memory, it was a lot hotter previously... they must have dulled down the heat or my tolerance levels must have been high that day....

You can also have a choice of sides... and for $3.50 you can get some smashed peas, sweet potato, mash, all drenched in some gravy....

Despite how full I was... I wasn't sure when I'd be back next... so I ordered their sausage roll... Amazing! So tender, just melt in your mouth delicious....

To finish our meal, the wife and I shared a salted caramel meringue tart... it was so good that when she ate her half... she couldn't stop eyeing my half as well....

It's located perfectly... on the side of the main road as you're leaving the Blue Mountains back to Sydney. The place does get packed normally with large takeaway orders or tourists....

I can vouch for their great pies and even the clean toilets... I'm not a coffee drinker so you can be your own judge...

About

I suddenly feel the tides turning. A yearn for something better in my life. I'm hoping for big changes in my career, maybe the touch of my first born and the ongoing rollercoaster of my marriage.

It feels important enough to dedicate a few minutes of my days to etch out how it is through my eyes... just so one day I can flick through and reminisce

Meet The Author

I've spent my whole life being the son my parents wanted me to be. I studied hard, went through the different levels of the school system and then I'm now 30. I married a beautiful girl, trying to pay off a mortgage, and have a bucket list of things I want to do which don't involve work.

I've always had a passion for blogging, photography, food, collecting aka organised hoarding and music and I can't think of any better moment to start documenting it...
