I haven't had a Pizza Pocket in years. Everytime I pass it in the freezer section I'm always waiting for it to go on sale but it never seems to. At $7 a box, it felt a bit overpriced for what it essentially was - a pizza in a bun
This really reminds me of being a kid. When my family was splurging I'd remember coming home to one of these. I would savour it and ate it slowly despite how fast I normally eat.
I whacked it in the microwave and the smell continued to walk me down memory lane. As I took it out of the microwave, I noticed my pizza pocket must have worked hard as it left a sweat patch.
The packaging mentioned something about waiting 2 minutes for it to cool down or you'll lose your taste buds for a few days... so I abided by the advice and anxiously waited to sink my teeth into it.
When I finally took my first bite... I felt robbed... like someone stole all my filling and replaced it with so much bread. The flavour was so bland as well. I unhappily scoffed the rest of it...
I guess those memories were probably best left in the past... I'm glad I at least got the cravings out of my system.
