Despite being full from lunch we still made the effort and stomach room and wandered into the Canley Heights branch. We were greeted by the friendly staff and seated promptly. The store was pretty much empty so finding a seat was not a problem. I'm assuming they get majority of their customers at night after dinner.
It had the decor of a small cafe. Their menu was vast but I was really only interested in one thing. their famous Gaytime dessert. The plate came out very nicely decorated. All the typical stuff they teach you on cooking shows on TV... presentation is everything... we eat with our eyes too... blah blah blah...
I was actually quite disappointed. Firstly it's a similar but poor attempt at Holy Basil's fried ice-cream. Yes, they just wrapped a Gaytime in pastry, which isn't the bad part... what's bad about it is the fact the pastry leaves the same aftertaste I would have after eating say a sausage roll which really took away from the deliciousness and sweetness of the Gaytime ( a fantastic ice-cream on it's own).
So yes... I guess the name does suit... What the Fudge? I just paid $13 for a not-so-gay time....
