We were given a complimentary starter of papadums.
We ordered their Chilli Momo, a chicken dumpling tossed with onion, capsicum tomato spicy, sweet and sour hot sauce. What you notice is the colour of it when it arrives. the brightness was a good indication the dish was going to be hot. It left a lingering burn on the tongue and lips after consumption. I quite enjoyed it, polishing off most of this delicious entree.
We initially ordered the Fish Curry but had to switch to a Prawn Curry when we were informed there was no more fish. The curry portion was quite small for the $18 price tag. I felt it lacked all the spices to make the dish stand out like Indian curries do... but nonetheless still quite fantastic.
We ordered two naans to compliment the curry.
Next was the Lamb Biryani, basmati rice flavoured with Nepalese biryani spice. This was amazingly good. It was full of flavours and every bite left me wanting more.
To finish off the night we ordered Gulab Jamun, cake balls dipped in cardarmom flavoured syrup with yoghurt. It was small, super sweet and the perfect way to end off a perfect meal.
I even got to wash down my Nepalese meal with some Nepal's Mustang beer.
There was something so authentic about the place. The fact the waitress didn't speak much English, the beer and how flavoursome the food was... my experience left me with great anticipation of a return visit.
