Being raised in a Vietnamese household, eating Pho was the part of our lives and over time I grew to have no cravings for it. In fact, I much prefer the stronger flavours of a Bun Bo Hue. But alas... I keep getting faced with eating the bowl of Pho every now and then because my wife loves it...
We stumbled onto this joint...more-so from my read ins online about its Pho eating challenge in which I was interested in overseeing and possibly participating despite knowing I can't down 1/2 kg of noodles 1/2 kg of meat and 1.5 Lts of soup in a measly 11 minutes.
So instead I ordered their Pho Dac Biet... where Dac Biet implies it's special so they chuck in extra chunks of meat. The bowl was quite massive and the price was only $9.50.
I've actually eaten here before and had to come back to do a review because I felt the broth was done very well here. Enough so to deserve some form of a mention and not only a Instagram photo...
This time we even tried their spring rolls. It's done with a different wrap and it's stuffed with so much meaty goodness. It's also deep fried so expect it to be crispy and oily. The sauce they paired it with was too weak for my tastebuds and wasn't enough to help compliment the spring roll... but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Despite having free tea there... my wife still enjoys pairing it with some form of fruit shake... this time she chose an avocado and durian shake. I took a few sips of it and it was smooth and you can actually taste the essence of both ingredients. Was a nice touch to finish off such a heavy meal...
The seem to have many specials running through the week on weekdays... so there's almost no excuse to not give it a go...
