We started with one of the classics... the salt and pepper prawns. The prawns were butterflied and coated with a light salt and pepper batter. The flavours were subtle and somewhat moreish.
We opted for the chef's favourite Shan Tung Chicken, but substituted it with lamb. I was a bit taken back to find the lamb skin so crispy. Literally I needed to do a double taste to confirm it was lamb. The meat was served quite tender and paired with cucumber, fresh chilli garlic, peanuts and topped with their special sauce.
I was slightly deterred upon entry to find majority of their customers to be of non Asian descent. Normally it symbolises some form of fusion influences that never really tickles my fancy. It's a shame to say their customer service truly reflects the unflattering stereotyped Asian restaurant where it's average at best.
An odd note about this place is their bathroom location. It literally leads you out of the restaurant to a destination so far away, you could just leave without paying.
The pricing reflects a restaurant of a higher calibre but the food and service leaves me questioning. To be honest I didn't mind the food, but if you're expecting us to pay a premium.. at least do it with a smile.
