Surrounding where we live has been a fast growth of local restaurants... all trying to vie for the locals support. Though it's situated in the closest eating area to the suburb... the hidden cluster of restaurants seem to still have slight troubles at times to gain crowd momentum... BUT with the fridge empty, we set out to give the locals a go.
The host was amazingly good though. After seeing us standing at the front of the restaurant, scratching our heads, trying to work out their menu structure, he kindly (and excitedly) explained everything to us. We didn't feel too much pressure to fork over my money at the door. I actually went home after he explained the menu.. just to grab my camera and we rocked back up later.... and we were greeted jokingly by 'Oh what made you come back?'
So I ordered my 4 Pines Kolsh... picked a BBQ set menu for two and waited patiently... It was a great atmosphere. The weather was warm, the hot BBQ's were firing and we sat among the smell of smoke and cooked meat. What I did love about the place was the service. The waitresses were on the ball all night.
They popped our complimentary sides on the table. Not a vast choice but still nice...
They even gave us a nice bowl of greens while we waited....
Then came the heat for the meat....
With your first order of the 4 Pines they even chucked in a small bowl of fries...
Our Sydney Yakiniku set came out: Premium Waguy Beef check roll cut, pork belly, prawns, chorizo, potato, onion, mushrooms, halloumi cheese, caramelised-maple syrup banana, garlic butter and tortilla and some huge-ass marshmallows.
It didn't look like much but we left feeling quite satisfied. The food was just as good as any Korean BBQ I've been to. The meal ended up being just under $60. The service was impeccable. The only fault I have was when sitting outside, you might get some of those small bugs falling into your plate of food.... The highlight of the night was slowly roasting marshmallows over the heat and chatting the night away...
