Longines Legend Diver

For me this piece is the one in my collection where it wasn't purchased for any real reason. I normally like to associate each purchase with a tag lined moment of my life so that when I reflect on it I can understand what made me choose it. This one was just something I hated initially. I never understood why it was popular but overtime I grew to love and respect its history and design. I see it on forums. I notice it pop up in articles. I then see it in for sale online. Next thing you know I'm handing my hard earned money over for this piece.

I think for me... I've always loved the Longines brand. Something I remember associating with luxury when I was a kid. Not sure how or why. Probably overhearing it from my parents. Another reason would be the fact it's not a flashy piece that people not in the know would understand or even give a double take to.

With only the date version being sold in their current range, I opted for a no date option as they discontinued these back in 2009. It gives the watch more symmetry and simplicity which I prefer. Also reflects more true to the original heritage piece.

This is a divers watch (given away by it's name) that has 300 meters water resistance. The strap is water resistant, the crowns all twist down and it has a screw down case back. You may have noticed there's two crowns on it. One obviously allows you to configure the time but the second one actually rotates an inner bezel. I love that!

My biggest shock with the watch was the box it came in. It's humungous. Easily doubling any normal watch box. I'm not sure the purpose of it though...

To officially give this piece a purpose I'll just call it part 1 of last hooray piece from the redundancy money...

I'll remember this as I stare at it at work.. counting down the seconds to home time...

About

I suddenly feel the tides turning. A yearn for something better in my life. I'm hoping for big changes in my career, maybe the touch of my first born and the ongoing rollercoaster of my marriage.

It feels important enough to dedicate a few minutes of my days to etch out how it is through my eyes... just so one day I can flick through and reminisce

Meet The Author

I've spent my whole life being the son my parents wanted me to be. I studied hard, went through the different levels of the school system and then I'm now 30. I married a beautiful girl, trying to pay off a mortgage, and have a bucket list of things I want to do which don't involve work.

I've always had a passion for blogging, photography, food, collecting aka organised hoarding and music and I can't think of any better moment to start documenting it...
