So KFC has jumped on the burger wagon. Yes I know, they've always made burgers but this new burger hype in Sydney is out of control. A black Zinger burger. The last black burger I had at Parlour Burger should deter me for life... but alas... marketing always wins at end of the day.
Here we have a Zinger burger makeover. You get a new maple mustard flavoured sauce which brings this slightly unwelcome sweetness to the sauce, "cripsy bacon" which was so chewy I nearly threw it out and that Black Bun brings home the "wow factor!"
The black bun is done by using vegetable carbon... essentially black food colouring. While the bun doesn't actually have any flavours on its own, they have sprinkled sesame seeds, nigella seeds, chilli flakes and black cracked pepper to finish it off.
I don't normally go to KFC for their burgers... and this experience was interesting but wont start any new trends for me.
